Ken Akamatsu was born on July 5th, 1968 in Kanagawa, Japan. His has blood type B. He has an education from Department of Literature country literature course graduate of Chuo University. When Ken was an adolescent, he has failed his entrance exam of Tokyo University (which he applied for Film Study). Akamatsu was spotlighted as an illustrator in Comike (Comic Market) in Japan. In those days, he used the pen name Awa Mizuno. Since then, Ken Akamatsu has won Weekly Shonen magazine awards twice while still in college. "A Kid's Game for One Summer" won the 50th Shonen magazine Newcomer Award soon after his graduation.
